Approach

Barbette de Graaf’s approach is businesslike, knowledgeable, sensitive, results-driven and independent. Barbette always seeks to connect and build trust between the people involved and the worlds they represent. These worlds are often different, which can lead – intentionally or unintentionally – to misunderstandings.

Barbette seeks shared interests as the connecting link in overcoming differences between parties. These differences often concern substantive issues (real estate/ profit), but can also stem from less concrete and visible aspects such as background, culture, approach, decision-making, accountability and organisational supervision.

Drawing on decades of experience across the real estate space, both in national and international markets, Barbette effortlessly navigates through these contrasting worlds. Her sensitivity and communication skills enable her to address with tact and delicacy whatever connects or divides parties at every level of stakeholder interaction. When directing complex processes, she enables everyone to actively contribute and take responsibility. Large interests are at stake, so the decisions must be consensual to be sustainable and keep everyone on board in the long term. That is precisely what Barbette delivers.

Not surprisingly, Barbette attaches great importance to good governance, compliance, integrity and transparency. Where necessary, she also takes care of correspondence and decision-making or accountability documents for stakeholders. Finally, Barbette always remains mindful of the people behind the process, notably the tenants and employees on the ground.
